Band Bio

Newly reformed and refunked, Function is ready to head into 2005 with a full head of steam. Mixing funk, blues, rock, and European bluegrass; Function has energized and impressed audiences all over the chicagoland area. Originally formed in 2002, Function has perfomed in such venues as Double Door, The Elbo Room, The Note, Walter Payton's Roundhouse, Riley's Rockhouse, Rory's Music Cafe, Rascal's in Minnesota, and other small clubs around the area. Function is looking forward to a busy winter; recording an EP, playing shows, and appearing in the international Emergenza Festival.

The group features the sexy vocal stylings of blues harp blower Rebecca Hayden. Brandon Warrick backs up the buttery voicings with wicked his guitar work. Guitarist and mandolin player Tony Spadaro lays down the rythymic backbone of tunage, while keyboarder and singer Michael Pentz brings soul and beauty through composition to the table. Function is rounded out by the "Brothers of Groove" Sam and Ryan Montiel on sick tight drums and thumpin' groove bass. Function's diverse lineup adds up to a muscial experience that's worth checking out. Look for new showdates and an EP soon.
