Tell me--who are the great local bands?

Hey!! I’m pretty new to Chicago, moved up here from Kentucky. Having trouble finding the good local jam band scene. Bands I like include WSP, N. Miss. Allstars, Galactic, Jerry Joseph, Derek Trucks Band, etc. Anything in the same vein around here? Would definately like to see some bands with a great guitarist.

Some freat local bands

Some great Chicago jam bands are Umphreys McGee, The Herbert Wiser Band, Function, Ataba, Los Des. A few of them have Mp3’s you can download right from this site. Check out the bands homepage’s for upcoming shows. I recomend checking out Umphrey’s at The Riv at the end of March. Also, Function, Los Des and Ataba always have local gigs coming up. We’re a nationally touring act based out of Chicago with a sound that is based in funk but has plenty of jazz style composition and improvisation, and rock.
