Rhombus History - started in 1997 with Aaron and Bradford in high school in Chicagoland, and continued at ISU (Illinois State University) in Bloomington, IL in `98. They joined forces with Matt to form ILL GOTTEN BUTY - a popular area jam/party band - as they also played in the ISU Jazz Band. Soon after, Matt left for Colombia University (Chicago) to study composition and classical piano, while Bradford & Aaron played in a series of local bands and both studied music and Spanish. Post graduation, A&B played for several years in and around Chicago in the bands ATABA and LosDes Groove Orchestra. LosDes continues playing their heady material in addition to sharing a tune or two w/Rhombus; however - Brad plays piano - Aaron plays a bit of everything (guitar, keys, drums)! Fritz was originally drafted into ATABAs lineup on bass, and hung-out for what would become Rhombus. When Matt resurfaced in the summer of `05 working for the Chicago Jazz Ensemble (after Colombia), he wanted to jam! Soon after, Keyz joined the band and Rhombus formed. In the fall of 2007 they cemented their lineup by adding local Chicago artist Brandon Warrick.
Currently Rhombus is putting the finishing touches on their unnamed forthcoming EP.
